Kristaps Porzingis was ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Wizards "due to an illness," according to the Knicks.
Porzingis' status was announced less than 30 minutes before tipoff. The second-year forward has now missed eight of the Knicks' 50 games. The Knicks also played without starting point guard Derrick Rose, who is out with a sprained left ankle.
It is unclear if Porzingis or Rose will be available Wednesday against the Nets.
