The Knicks 11-point lead in the second quarter evaporated in the third frame as the Nets outscored New York 38-26. Brooklyn shot 63.6 percent in the third period and connected on 6-of-9 from downtown to take control of the contest. The road team finished strong in the final quarter to complete the 121-110 victory at Madison Square Garden. Brook Lopez scored 11 of his 24 in the third quarter and Jeremy Lin posted nine in that crucial period. The Nets bench combined for 33 points as every member of the team registered a point in the win.
Knick of the Night:
Kyle O’Quinn recorded a game-high 23 points (10-of-15 FG) and eight boards in only 25 minutes of game time.
Derrick Rose finished with 22 points, Carmelo Anthony added 17, and Lance Thomas ripped down 10 boards.
News and Notes:
Kristaps Porzingis was forced to the locker room after suffering a contused left thigh at the 11:25 mark of the fourth quarter on Tuesday night. The second-year big man did not participate in Wednesday’s practice session and was sidelined for tonight’s contest.
Brooklyn outrebounded New York 50-34 and scored 22 second chance points.
The Knicks will hit the road for a west coast trip on Saturday afternoon. On Monday night, New York faces the Clippers at 10:30 PM Eastern with all of the coverage on MSG Network.
