SAS 119, NYK 107: Porzingis Swats 6 Shots, Ntilikina Dishes Season-High 9 Dimes

On the second of a back-to-back, the Knicks battled the mighty Spurs throughout a difficult contest on Thursday night. New York nearly took the lead from San Antonio several times but the road team could not sustain the success in the 119-107 defeat. In the first minute of the fourth quarter, Michael Beasley converted an And-1 play off a slick pass from Kyle O’Quinn. Beasley cut the Spurs lead to just six points. San Antonio answered by reeling off a 7-0 run over the next minute to push the advantage back to double digits. The Spurs never looked back in the home victory despite missing Kawhi Leonard. LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 25 points and Pau Gasol added 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Knick of the Night:

Michael Beasley was strong off the pine with a team-high 23 points and 12 boards in 32 minutes of court time. The forward buried 9-of-13 shots from the floor.


Kristaps Porzingis scored 18 points and swatted six shots, Enes Kanter posted 12 points, and Frank Ntilikina finished with a season-high 11 dimes.

Statistically Speaking:

New York managed to outscore San Antonio in the paint, second chance points, and in transition.
